The past year has changed the way we do so many things. What endures is the unwavering impact scholarships and financial aid have on the student experience. This year, through a series of Zoom meetings, we connected our generous alumni and friends with the exceptional students they support.
Shaped by discussions of goals and dreams for the future, shared advice, and swapped Lehigh stories, these connections build relationships and leave lasting impressions for all. In these calls, students learn the personal histories behind the scholarships they receive and discover unique similarities.
Whether they were meeting for the first time or reconnecting from their homes around the world, these conversations were a moment for donors and students to engage: as mentors and mentees, and as people living through the pandemic. Plans for life beyond Lehigh were set in motion as donors connected students with industry partners, shared advice for the first year of law school, and discussed summer research in polymers and airplane parts — the exact field where the donor spent their career.
At a time when we have been physically apart, the chance to simply connect — to find in one another a similar passion or a shared journey, and to be able to guide a new generation of possibility and potential — has never felt more meaningful.
